Matilda nominee

Set in early 20th-century Georgia, Parade tells the true story of Leo Frank, a Jewish factory manager accused of the murder of a 13-year-old girl.

Jason Robert Brown’s score runs from haunting ballads to stirring anthems, and Alfred Uhry’s book follows the case through themes of historical injustice and personal redemption.

On Broadway, Parade won the 1999 Tony Awards for Best Book and Best Original Score, and the 2023 Tony for Best Revival of a Musical.
